MKS Survey: please help

Hello Mr. Hewitt Parents,

I hope your kids have had a wonderful final year at Keppel. Here is one last way you can help out the Keppel Community! Please read the message below from MKS.

Even though the 2018-19 year is coming to a close, MKS is already thinking about programs and events for the next school year. Please take a few minutes to fill out the survey linked below. We would love to hear from as many Keppel families as possible, even if this is your last year. Your answers will help us plan an even more fun and successful 2019-2020!

Surveys can be submitted anonymously. However, if you would like the chance to win a Commissary gift card, you may enter your contact information at the end of the survey. Winners will be selected Tuesday morning (06/11/19).

Thanks for your time,

MKS

5th grade promotion information

Mark Keppel Visual & Performing Arts Magnet

Dear Fifth Grade Parents,

The Fifth Grade Promotion will take place on Friday, June 7, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. in the Hoover High School Auditorium. This is a special occasion for our fifth grade students and their families. To contribute to the success of the event, we ask that you read the following guidelines and discuss them with your child. Thank you for your cooperation. We look forward to seeing you on Friday, June 7th.

Promotion Guidelines:

•Doors open at 12:30 pm. The ceremony will begin promptly at 1:00 pm.

•No tickets are necessary. There is unlimited seating available on a first come, first served basis.

•The program lasts approximately an hour.

•Do not bring balloon bouquets or large bunches of flowers. Students will be returning to class following promotion and these items will not be allowed at school.

In order to be able to hear every child’s name, we ask that there be no whistling, shouting or applause as names are read. We will cheer the entire group of students once all names have been read.

•Parents must remain seated during the ceremony. 5th grade Committee has hired a photographer to photograph each student on stage and pictures will be available to download for free.

•Parents who wish to videotape the promotion must do it from the BALCONY AREA ONLY.

Appropriate promotion attire includes:

-- Skirt, blouse, dress, shorts or pants – nice, not formal

-- Blouse or dress should NOT be off the shoulder or strapless

-- Appropriate shoes (closed toed, school appropriate)

-- Shirts with buttons and collars are accceptable

-- 5th grade T-shirts are allowed

Be mindful that students will be at school all day before the promotion.

If you have any questions regarding promotion, please contact your child’s classroom teacher. Thank you.

Class last day end-of-year party

Hello,

Would anybody be interested in helping with this?  I intend to do a semi-healthy (Subway sandwiches, chips, juice / water) party.  It would be fairly easy to collect money and place an order.  Please let me know :)

Colonial day info

Notes:

--Kids need to bring a sack lunch and water.  A snack will be served, but it is not sufficient for lunch.
--They should wear sunscreen
--They will be returning to school around 3:15 - 3:30 pm.
