We will be taking the CST test for science on May 7 and 8.  This is the old style test (multiple choice) and covers 4th and 5th grade science.  You can test yourself and study here:

We did the background information for tomorrow's common core performance task.  Don't worry if you weren't here - it's basic information about the pioneers such as :

What clothes did they wear?
How did they travel?
Why did they travel West?

I'll check with absent students tomorrow to make sure they have the basic background information.

No math today, as the Shane's Inspiration director came in and trained the class how to interact with the disabled students on our Thursday field trip.  Don't forget to turn in your permission slip and ten dollars.  Mrs Cannon and Mrs Pimenta's language arts classes are doing the same field trip on April 30.

Events this week:

Tuesday - last 5th grade dine out night at Granville Cafe (Americana location).  This place is super good at an affordable price.  My wife is a professional chef, and it's a favorite.  Let's have
one final push to support the 5th grade!

Thursday - Ignite Dance rehearsal at the Alex Theater.  Call time is 7:30 - this should only take 20 to 30 minutes


Friday - Ignite Dance performance at the Alex Theater.  Call time is 6:30.  Leave time to park on a Friday night

FUN RUN - our major MKS fundraiser for the year.  Please pledge an amount to help our
school maintain its fantastic arts program.

Colonial Day

The big day is coming and we could still use some volunteers.  Why don't you take the day off work and come help?  The boss will never know you're not really sick.  You can have a three day weekend and spend the first day of it helping us out and having fun with the 5th grade.  It's always a truly memorable event, and one of the highlights of your child's elementary school career.  Join us, you'll be glad you did!
